Budget carriers often use secondary airports that are far from the city center. Double-check the airport code before you book, and factor in transportation time and cost to get where you actually want to go.

Check-in cutoffs are strict, and gate agents aren’t known for their flexibility. Print your boarding pass ahead of time or download it to your phone. Show up early, follow the baggage rules, and don’t expect special treatment if you miss the deadline.
